Cuero, Texas: The following are events scheduled for the month of April that are either presented by Cuero Regional Hospital or one of the Cuero Health entities or include involvement from the Cuero Health staff.
Coffee with the Mayor
Tuesday, April 9, 9:30 – 10:30 a.m., Cuero Regional Hospital, 2500 N. Esplanade, Cuero
Join us in Cuero Regional Hospital's main lobby for Coffee with the Mayor on Tuesday, April 9 from 9:30 to 10:30. Mayor Sara Post Meyer will join us and complimentary refreshments provided.
Bfit Slimdown Series
Tuesday, April 9th, 5:30 p.m. at Bfit Cuero Wellness Center, 701 N. Esplanade, Cuero
Presenter Denise Goebel- DeWitt County Family and Community Health Agent.
Topic: Healthy Eating Tips and Recipes. Sample foods and recipes will be provided.
Mid-Coast Hurricane & Disaster Conference
April 11, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., Victoria Community Center, 2905 E. North Street, Victoria
Golden Crescent Health Care Coalition (GCHCC) would like to invite you to the 20th annual Mid Coast Hurricane & Disaster Conference to be held Thursday, April 11, 2019 at the Victoria Community Center in Victoria, Texas. Doors open at 8:00am for on-site registration, and our conference will begin at 8:30am. Conference ends at 5:00 p.m. Pre-registration tickets are available for $25/tkt until Friday, April 5th. On-site registration will begin at 8am on Thursday, April 11th for $30/tkt. Cuero Regional Hospital will be a participant at this event.
Shattered Dreams Program, Cuero ISD
April 17, 407 Park Heights Drive, 10:45 a.m. crash scene
Cuero ISD will hold the Shattered Dreams Program on Wednesday, April 17th at 405 Park Heights Drive. This program is made possible by the Cuero ISD Education Foundation. Event volunteers/supporters: Cuero Police Department, DeWitt County Sheriff Department, Cuero Fire Department, Cuero Regional Hospital, Cuero EMS, DeWitt County Justice of the Peace, Freund Funeral Home, TDCJ-Stevenson Unit, Texas Department of Public Safety, Texas A&M Agrilife, Air Methods, DeWitt County Local Emergency Planning Committee, and many community volunteers. The "Shattered Dreams" program involves the dramatization of an alcohol-related crash on or near a high school campus.
Shattered Dreams Mock Memorial Service
April 18, Cuero ISD Performing Arts Center, 9:30 a.m.
There will be a mock memorial service on April 18th at 9:30 AM for the mock crash fatalities at the Cuero ISD Performing Arts Center. Approximately every 15 minutes someone in Texas is injured or killed as a result of drunk driving. This reminds us that too many lives have been lost and many others severely impaired because of the tragic consequences of underage drinking and driving. Community members are invited to attend any of the Shattered Dreams events.
Cuero Regional Hospital & Community Blood Drive
April 18, 10:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., Cuero Regional Hospital, 2500 N. Esplanade, Cuero
Join us on April 18 from 10:30 - 3:30 p.m. in the education classroom at Cuero Regional Hospital to donate the gift of life. Please consider donating blood and save a life. All donors will receive a $10 Subway card.
Medical Laboratory Professionals Week is April 21-27, 2019.

National Medical Laboratory Professionals Week (NMLPW) is an annual celebration of the medical laboratory professionals and pathologists who play a vital role in every aspect of health care. “An Evening Under the Oaks” Gala XII
Saturday, April 27, 6 – 11 p.m. at Cuero Regional Hospital, 2500 N. Esplanade, Cuero
The theme of the 2019 Gala will be “An Evening Under the Oaks” in which attendees will spend the evening under the oaks on the grounds of Cuero Regional Hospital. The event features musical entertainment from Rotel and the Hot Tomatoes, as well as exceptional cuisine, traditional live and silent auctions. Support from the Dewitt Medical Foundation allows Cuero Health to invest back to the communities we serve, helping to recruit compassionate caregivers and aid in our retention of this amazing staff. Sponsorship tables varying in price from $500 to $10,000 are available as well as individual tickets for $150 each. Childbirth Classes at Cuero Regional Hospital
May 8, 5 – 7:30 p.m.
May 15, 5 – 7:30 p.m.
Sign up for free childbirth classes offered by Cuero Regional Hospital. Classes are held in the Belle Terry Elder Women's Center located in the Medical Plaza of the hospital, across from Cuero Medical Clinic. Call 361-275-0527 for more information or to register. Classes are free for those delivering at CRH. For those delivering at another hospital, a $30 fee is required at first class only.
National Nurses Week – May 6 – 12
Held annually since 1954, National Nurses Week was founded by the American Nurses Association (ANA) to celebrate the role nurses play in delivering high-quality care to patients around the world.
