Cuero Health Clinics to Provide Telephone Provider Visits during COVID-19 Period

Cuero, TX—Recently announced waivers from our government are allowing Cuero Health clinics to use a new option that allow clinic patients to “see” a doctor remotely from home. Starting Tuesday, March 24, Cuero Health clinic patients that are sick or need medication refills can contact their provider’s office to arrange a telephone appointment.

"Your primary care provider can provide care over the telephone for many common health issues, including colds, allergies, etc., as well as medication refills," said Lynn Falcone, CEO of Cuero Health. “This is a welcomed solution to help decrease the number of people in the clinics and allow our patients to stay home, yet still get the care they need,” said Falcone.

“Call your Cuero Health clinic primary care provider and they will be able to assess whether you need a telephone or an in-person visit,” said Greg Pritchett, Cuero Health Clinic Administrator. “Not all requests will be able to be handled over the phone, such as a wellness visit or well child visit. We encourage you to call your Cuero Health preferred clinic to discuss your need so we can schedule you accordingly,” said Pritchett. “Once your phone visit is scheduled, the provider will call you at your scheduled time.”

Pritchett shared that this is a temporary measure and the temporary waiver from the government is allowing the provider phone visits. Once the COVID-19 threat is diminished, regular in-person visits will resume and telephone appointments will no longer be offered. “Our providers are pleased to be able to provide this service to their valued patients during this critical time,” said Pritchett.

“In a continued effort to minimize our community’s exposure to COVID-19, Cuero Health is developing options for a drive-by laboratory. More details will be released as soon as plans are finalized,” said Falcone. “We are working to develop innovative solutions in this evolving situation and we want to thank the communities we serve for their support and trust.
