Calvary Baptist Church, Cuero

Cuero Regional Hospital’s Education Classroom
Diabetes Education Classes are held the fourth Tuesday of every month from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. at Cuero Regional Hospital's Education Room. These classes are for anyone over 18yrs of age and older. Call 361-703-5441 for more information or to enroll.

By enrolling in their FREE, year-long program, you'll get all of the following:
• Eight-hour "Controlling Your Diabetes" class
• Initial lab work
• Follow-up lab work every three months for one year
• Continuing education and support.

1–31 | Minority Mental Health Awareness Month (National) This observance is dedicated to providing support and resources while raising awareness for minority groups living with mental illness. The U.S. House of Representatives proclaimed July as Bebe Moore Campbell National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month in 2008, aiming to improve access to mental health treatment and services for multicultural communities through increased public awareness. 8–21 | Donate Life ECHO (Every Community Has Opportunity) The Association for Multicultural Affairs in Transplantation and Donate Life America joined forces in 2015 to develop Donate Life ECHO, a nationwide observance designed to reach multicultural communities. It has two objectives: 1) to focus on the power of sharing one’s personal decision to register as an organ, eye and tissue donor; and 2) encourage registered donors to ask members of their personal networks and communities to talk about organ, eye and tissue donation. Save the Date: Turkey Trot 2019!
Turkeyfest 2019, Oct. 11 – 13, 2019
Saturday, October 12 – Turkey Trot 2019
The Twelfth Annual Turkey Trot 5K will be Saturday, October 12 at 8 a.m. at BFit Cuero Wellness Center. Registration starts at 7 a.m. The race benefits Cuero Wellness Center and a portion of the race proceeds will benefit The Boys and Girls Club of Dewitt County. The top three finishers in each age group will receive medals and prize packs. Winners will be announced following the race, right before Ruby Begonia takes on Paycheck in the second leg of the Great Gobbler Gallop. The course takes runners and walkers through historic Cuero. After the race, participants can stay to watch the Great Turkey Gallop, as well as other fun events happening during Cuero Turkeyfest. Register online at Active.com. Registration fees are $25 before October 1 and $30 after that date. Sponsorships are available to area individuals or businesses.
