December 27, 1952 – October 3, 2019

This MRI Suite is dedicated to the memory of Stephen Tibbitts, a loved and respected Radiologist of 23 years at Cuero Regional Hospital. He always had an extra minute to give, advice to share, compassion to offer, and never turned away someone in need.

After graduating from the United States Air Force Academy, where he swam competitively for four years, he enjoyed a 20 year career in the Air Force before settling down in Victoria, TX as a private practice radiologist. He spent his spare time volunteering in his community and local church. As an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed swimming and cycling, amongst other activities. Dr. Tibbitts was a Man of Faith, excellent father, teacher, physician, and a role model for every life that he touched.

So also you have sorrow now; but I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy from you.” John 16:22

“Dr. Tibbitts was instrumental in guiding me in my career. He was a kind, dedicated professional and he was always willing to go the extra mile for his patients, as well as his co-workers and our staff. This dedication means so much to our team that worked with him for years until he retired and his memory will live on in our hearts,” said Tyler Lemke, Radiology Director at Cuero Regional Hospital.

“He left such a legacy of compassionate care when he retired last year and, it’s only fitting that we dedicate our new 3T MRI suite in his memory. The private reception was filled with laughter and tears as we fondly remembered his days working at Cuero Regional Hospital. He is greatly missed by our staff that worked so closely with him, but his memory will live on in the halls of Cuero Regional Hospital,” said Lynn Falcone, CEO of Cuero Health.
