Cuero Regional Hospital Has BIG Plans to Celebrate National Hospital Week 2022

Contact: Lynn Falcone, CEO
Cuero, TX— A hospital is more than a place where people go to heal; it is a part of the community that fosters health and represents hope. During National Hospital Week (May 8 – 14, 2022), Cuero Regional Hospital honors the hundreds of caring staff members at both the hospital and supporting clinics/facilities who work together 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, to deliver hope and ensure quality medical care is available to all.
And, this year’s celebration will culminate with a free Community Street Dance featuring The Emotions on Friday, May 13th from 6 – 10 p.m. in Downtown Cuero, presented by ConocoPhillips. 5D Travelin’ Tavern and food trucks will also be available that evening, ensuring a fun celebration for both staff and the public. The event is co-sponsored by: The City of Cuero, Cuero Regional Hospital, Cuero Main Street and The Cuero Chamber of Commerce.
“From providing treatment and comfort to the sick, to welcoming new life into the world, Cuero Regional Hospital is critical to providing the latest medical services to ensure a healthy and optimistic community. During Hospital Week, we celebrate over 50 years of history serving this community, our technology/advances, but, most importantly our people – the dedicated professionals that make our all of our Cuero Health facilities beacons of confidence and care,” said Lynn Falcone, CEO of Cuero Health. “This year is particularly meaningful given the staff’s continued resilience throughout this pandemic. It is time for the community to finally come together and celebrate the staff and enjoy a nice relaxing evening. There is much to recognize and celebrate,” said Falcone.
CRH is currently seeking sponsors to support their Hospital Week external and internal activities for the team. Sponsorships range from $100 to $1,000. Those individuals and businesses wishing to support are encouraged to contact Nikki Lantz at nlantz@cuerohospital.org.

National Hospital Week was established in 1953, and this year it will be celebrated from May 8 through May 14. The dates overlap the celebration of National Nurses Week (May 6 through 12), chosen to coincide with Florence Nightingale’s birthday, honoring her role in revolutionizing hospital care in the mid 1800’s.
“We’re extremely proud of each member of our Cuero Health staff and we recognize the important role they play in extending a sense of trust to our patients and our communities,” said Denise McMahan, Assistant Administrator at Cuero Regional Hospital. “During National Hospital Week, we look forward to rewarding the staff with fun theme days including snow cones from Kona Ice sponsored by our local Cuero Chamber, a movie night at our local Grand Theater and more! The Community Street Dance is a big event and we know we will have a great turnout from staff and the public to enjoy The Emotions.”
For over 50 years, Cuero Regional Hospital has been proud to serve DeWitt and the surrounding counties with high-quality hospital and clinical services that continue to expand, year after year. “This Hospital Week, we thank all of the dedicated individuals — physicians, nurses, therapists, business office, housekeepers, food service workers, volunteers, administrators and so many more — for following their calling and being committed to the health and well-being of the vibrant communities we serve,” said Falcone.
