Cuero Regional Hospital Volunteers celebrate a successful year of service with a special luncheon and present $5000, to CRH, to support the DaVinci Robot!
April 18, 2023 – Today the healthcare volunteers gathered in the Education Classroom of Cuero Regional Hospital for an appreciation luncheon, and new officer initiation. The Cuero Hospital Volunteers belong to the Texas Association of HealthCare Volunteers, a not-for-profit organization committed to promoting and advancing volunteer service in hospitals through a variety of activities and fundraisers. Fundraising activities include operating the hospital's Wishing Well Gift Shop, Bloomingdeals Resale Shoppe, sponsoring jewelry sales and much more. CRH recognized our fantastic Volunteer's with an Appreciation Luncheon.
Dr. Reese, CRH Chaplain, opened lunch with a prayer of thanksgiving and blessing over CRH Volunteers, doctors, staff, and entire organization. Following the prayer, was a wonderful lunch served by the leadership and managers of CRH to show their appreciation to the volunteers for all of their time and financial support that goes directly to our organization. The room was full of volunteers, and two hospital board members, Mr. Charles Papacek and Mrs. Faye Sheppard.
Honorary members, Dianne Cowey and Candy Glidden were recognized and awarded lifetime memberships. The 2023-25 officers are; President, Cindy Holcomb (not pictured); Vice Presidents, Candy Henderson and Kaye Lane; Treasurer, Emily Davis; Recording Secretary, Kristye Kahlich, Corresponding Secretary, Sondra Wineinger; Historian, Melissa Gaspar; and Reporter, Vicki Coppedge. A treasurers report was given, and this incredibly dedicated organization pledged $55,836.73 in support of Cuero Regional Hospital over the past year, and over 4,434 volunteer hours spent.
A special donation to the DaVinci Robot was presented to CEO, Lynn Falcone, for $5,000 and a special presentation on CRH's new surgical robot was given by Dr. Stephen Lester M.D., F.A.C.S, General Surgeon.
