Cuero, Texas: Gordon Barth, DO, was named “Citizen of the Year" at the Yorktown Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Banquet held on March 10, 2020. Dr. Barth, provider at Yorktown Medical Clinic since July 1983, was nominated for his dedication to Yorktown for the last 37 plus years.
Dr. Gordon Barth, born at Yorktown Memorial Hospital, was raised in Yorktown, and graduated from Yorktown High School in 1971.After attending Medical School, he returned home to serve Yorktown. In 1983, he started his practice in Yorktown; and began helping his father at Yorktown Memorial Hospital. When the Hospital closed, Dr. Barth added an x-ray department and lab to his clinic.

Dr. Barth is a founding charter member of Yorktown EMS, as well as the current medical director for EMS where he approves medical protocols and provides medical supervision of all personnel. He has served as Medical Director of Yorktown Manor Nursing Home since 1994.
Per his nomination form, submitted by Rene and Sylvia Hernandez, “Dr. Barth is known as a kind and very patient doctor. He gives each patient the time and attention needed to answer their questions and concerns. He is also known as a fine musician and entertains at community events. Dr. Barth has devoted his life to Yorktown. He continues his commitment to the citizens of Yorktown. We are very fortunate to have a doctor in our small community.”
