Goliad Family Practice Temporarily Closes Clinic for Repairs; Patient Care Plan Announced

Hospital news | Wednesday, February 24, 2021

Goliad, Texas: Goliad Family Practice, located at 139 W. Franklin, will temporarily close its physical location for two to three weeks to work on repairs from last week’s winter storms/freeze. Patients of Goliad Family Practice will be able to see a provider either via phone visits or in-person visits at either Yorktown Medical Clinic or Cuero Medical Clinic. Effective Thursday, Feb. 25, patients wishing to see a Goliad Family Practice provider are to call Goliad Family Practice at 361-645-8235 or Yorktown Medical Clinic at 361-564-9230.

“Due to a water leak at Goliad Family Practice last week during the arctic freeze, we are temporarily closing the Goliad clinic location for approximately 2-3 weeks while our team makes repairs and replaces the floors,” said Denise McMahan, RN-MSN, Assistant Administrator at Cuero Regional Hospital.

The Goliad Family Practice staff will be working from Yorktown Medical Clinic. “Our provider, Laura Brown, RN, FNP-C, will do phone visits and home visits with face-to-face visits at Yorktown Medical Clinic. Dr. Kevin Denton will see Goliad clinic patients via phone visits and face-to-face visits at Cuero Medical Clinic. Dr. Cody Walthall, who was seeing OB patients during select days/times at the Goliad clinic, will see those patients at the Parkside Family Clinic location,” said McMahan.

“This is temporary until the flooring can be replaced,” said McMahan. “While it was unfortunate and unexpected, I am proud of our Goliad Family Practice team for working quickly to find a solution to ensure that our patients continue to have access to appointments with our talented, compassionate providers.”

“Cuero Health continues to provide compassionate care to those we serve in the Goliad community. We want to ensure that a high level of medical care is delivered, as well as high touch care is provided to all patients in the Goliad and the surrounding areas we proudly serve,” said McMahan. “We will update the media, as well as our website and social media channels, as progress is made and the re-open date of the Goliad clinic.”
