Medicare Recipients Urged to Share New Policy Numbers with Healthcare Provider of Choice before Jan. 1, 2020

Friday, October 25, 2019

Cuero Regional Hospital and Cuero Health clinics are working diligently to communicate with patients that are Medicare recipients to collect their new policy numbers at their next appointment or visit to Cuero Regional Hospital. Medicare issued new policy numbers to Medicare recipients via new Medicare cards starting April 2018, and has given a grace period through the end of this year that allows the organization to continue to file with the old policy numbers until the beginning of 2020.

“As of January 1, 2020, claims must be filed using the new policy number, so we are working closely with our hospital registration department to ensure the new number is being collected at registration. We ask our patients with Medicare to bring their new Medicare card with them when they register at our hospital or clinic so we can update this vital information,” said Lynn Falcone, CEO of Cuero Health.
