MultiPlan Grant Awarded to Cuero Regional Hospital to Launch Outpatient Psychiatric Program via Telemedicine
Cuero Regional Hospital recently announced that they are the proud recipient of a $5,000 MultiPlan Rural Health Grant. The grant will be used to establish an outpatient psychiatric program using telemedicine at Cuero Regional Hospital. Cuero Regional Hospital is among four rural hospital grant recipients to receive the MultiPlan Rural Health Grant in 2019.
“There are currently no mental health services in the entire DeWitt County and travel to larger cities for psychiatric services is not a feasible or affordable option for many in the county. The use of telemedicine enables Cuero Regional Hospital to treat patients in their home community, minimize costs of providing these services, while providing quality, coordinated care,” said Lynn Falcone, CEO of Cuero Health.
There will be a grant check presentation from MultiPlan on Tuesday, August 20 at 11 a.m. in the front reception area of Cuero Regional Hospital.
Since 1995, MultiPlan has awarded over a half million dollars to rural facilities participating in its networks to enable them to introduce or expand health services, educational programs, screenings and other healthcare related endeavors that support their communities.
MultiPlan encourages hospitals applying for the grant to come up with innovative solutions for their programs. “We want to inspire positive change in the healthcare industry.” said Dr. Anthony Sposato, Corporate Medical Director for MultiPlan, “We hope our grant helps medical providers in rural areas find new ways to support the healthcare needs of their communities.”
