National Nurses’ Week, May 6-12 Letter to the Editor

Dear Editor,
It’s National Nurses’ Week, May 6-12! Many people in our community and the surrounding communities have been touched by our Nursing Staff at Cuero Regional Hospital/Cuero Health. I would like to say a huge THANK YOU to each of those very special people.
I realize that their work is not easy. Caring for people in need can be exhilarating and inspiring, but it can also be exhausting. They have compassion and endurance to be at Cuero Regional Hospital/Cuero Health every day, 365 days of the year, and in the middle of the night when their patients are struggling with pain and sometimes even death. They have the patience and courage to deal with our health care system that is constantly changing and evolving. They have the composure, medical knowledge and technical skills to care for our patients as they progress through the life stages.
Also, a very important aspect of the care they provide is that of being the PATIENT’S Advocate. They are at the patient’s bedside, day and night, meeting their needs. They give competent, quality, and compassionate care to EVERY PATIENT EVERY TIME!
So, during this special Nurses’ Week, I want to tell them how much they are respected and appreciated.
I respect and appreciate them for providing excellent and competent care throughout our communities!
I respect and appreciate them for standing up for human rights!
I respect and appreciate them for all of the tears that they have dried!
But most of all, I respect and appreciate them for being the angel at the sides of our patients!
With heartfelt gratitude and deepest thanks, I want to say “Happy Nurse Week” to the wonderful nurses at Cuero Regional Hospital/ Cuero Health. I am honored to serve with you and I am grateful for each and every one of you.
Yours in service,
Judy Krupala, RN
Chief Nursing Officer of Cuero Regional Hospital
