Cuero Regional Hospital: October Mammogram Special Provides Early Detection

Cuero, Texas: Early detection saves lives when it comes to breast cancer. The incidence of invasive breast cancer is about 1 in 8 women with the most common sign is a lump in the breast. About 85% of women diagnosed with breast cancer have no family history. But, with early detection, the five-year survival rate is almost 99%.
In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month this October, Cuero Regional Hospital is offering a Mammogram special of $65 for a 2D digital screening mammogram and reading or $100 for their new Genius 3D Mammography™ exam and reading. No physician order is required to schedule; but patients will be required to identify a physician to receive your report. If patient does not have a physician, they may select from a list of Cuero Health providers to receive their report. This offer is a cash/pre-pay at time of service only; no insurance companies, Medicaid or Medicare will be billed. Call 361 -275-0170 to schedule your appointment today or for any questions.
“At Cuero Regional Hospital, our mission is to provide compassionate care to those we serve with a commitment to excellence in all we do. One of the ways we can provide this high touch level of care is by ensuring that our patients can afford to have life-saving early detection mammograms at our facility,” said Lynn Falcone, Cuero Health CEO.
“We are proud to offer the latest in breast cancer screening technology right here at home for our patients,” said Tyler Lemke, RT (R), CT, MR, Director of Radiology at Cuero Regional Hospital. “Genius exams are clinically proven to significantly increase the detection of breast cancers, and also decreasing the number of women asked to return for additional testing,” said Lemke.
Lemke said, “The Genius™ 3D Mammography™ exam allows doctors to examine your breast tissue layer by layer. So, instead of viewing all of the complexities of your breast tissue in a flat image, as with conventional 2D mammography, fine details are more visible and no longer hidden by the tissue above or below.”
“As a breast cancer survivor and leader of the nursing team at Cuero Regional Hospital, I strongly urge you to not delay scheduling your mammogram. Early detection was key for me, offering many treatment options. I continue to have my mammograms yearly to ensure that I my health is my priority. Our state-of-the-art digital mammography services, which now include a 3D mammogram option, offer our patients early detection in a comfortable setting with compassionate caregivers by their side every step of the way. Don’t let fear keep you from prioritizing your health’s importance,” said Judy Krupala, Chief Nursing Officer at Cuero Regional Hospital.
“Breast cancer is the leading cause of women’s mortality,” said Dr. V.A. Benavides, General Surgeon at Cuero Regional Hospital. “Mammography offers the most efficient and cost effective test available for the early detection of breast cancer,” said Dr. Benavides.
