Cuero, Texas: In a recent report shared with the Cuero Regional Hospital’s Board of Directors, findings showed several hundreds of thousands of dollars in FY19 benefits and value received from the hospital’s partnership with Methodist Healthcare System, San Antonio.
“Given our partnership with Methodist, we have been able provide a large variety of educational opportunities for our leaders along with networking opportunities at no cost to Cuero Regional Hospital. Methodist has brought education to Cuero for our staff and physicians as well as opened their doors to our staff attending educational session in San Antonio,” said Lynn Falcone, CEO of Cuero Health.
Chief nursing officer for Cuero Regional Hospital Judy Krupala shared, “For our clinical staff, this partnership has provided tremendous training for our nurses in obstetrics, ICU and pediatrics, including pediatric mock code blue training, monthly pediatric education support for ED staff, ICU & OR/Central Sterile Staff hands-on training , neonatal training and so much more. Besides the incredible wealth of training resources, access to the group purchasing alone saved us over $120K. Methodist also contributes to our Dewitt Medical Foundation by supporting tables at events like Dueling Pianos and Gala. Their commitment to rural healthcare development is helping Cuero Regional Hospital to thrive,” Krupala said.
“Several years ago Methodist Healthcare embarked on a rural healthcare collaboration strategy to assist rural Texas hospitals in growing their local services and increasing benefits to their local communities,” indicated Geoffrey Crabtree, Senior Vice President of Methodist Healthcare. “Added clinical services and increased financial stability of Cuero Health is positive testimony to this unique partnership that truly benefits all citizens of DeWitt County. Quality healthcare close to home is better healthcare, and the hospital staff, management and the District Board should be very proud of their accomplishments,” Crabtree added.
