Cuero, Texas: Cuero Wellness Center is putting a virtual spin on its annual Turkey Trot 5K for 2020. This year, due to participant health safety concerns, Turkey Trot 5K is going VIRTUAL! Those that wish to participate can register online, receive their Turkey Trot 5K t-shirt and race goodie bag/packet and all proceeds will benefit the Turkeyfest committee to support their local scholarships and projects.
“We invite you to try something a little different and exciting this year for Turkey Trot as we go virtual for our annual event. The Turkey Trot VIRTUAL 5K will be held where ever you prefer to do the three miles - walking trail, treadmill, neighborhood - you pick the path! We ask that you complete the 5K between Oct. 1 and 12. Send us a screenshot of your path and time to email@example.com and we'll post the virtual results on our website,” said Tami Brzozowski, Turkey Trot race director.
The first 100 paid participants will receive a T-shirt and goodie bag, with specific packet pickup dates and times to be announced. This family friendly event allows participants to run, walk or jog a 3 mile course of your choice. Registration is $25 per person before Oct. 1. After that date, the registration fee increases to $30.
Packet & Race TShirt Pick Up Dates/Times:
Friday, Sept. 25 - 5 - 8:30
Saturday, Sept. 26 - 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Will be located at Cuero Wellness Center, 701 N. Esplanade, Cuero
“We are thrilled to have the support of the Turkeyfest committee and we know this will be a tough year given that Turkeyfest is cancelled. We want to give the support back to them by providing proceeds from this event to their great service projects and scholarships supporting DeWitt County,” said Brzozowski.
Sponsors for the event include:
In-Kind Sponsors: Exibix, Inc., Cuero Regional Hospital and Bfit Cuero Wellness Center
Those wishing to support and sponsor are encouraged to call 361-894-5112.
“I want to thank Chick-fil-A’s local leadership for providing us with best practices on how to conduct a virtual 5K. Given this is a new area for us, we appreciate their expertise so that we can ensure a great experience for our participants,” said Brzozowski.
