Yorktown Emergency Preparedness Fair set for August 15th

Cuero, Texas: An Emergency Preparedness Fair will be presented by Yorktown Nursing and Rehabilitation on Thursday, August 15 from 1- 4 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, located at 234 N Gohmert St. in Yorktown.
“Whether it’s fire, flooding, hurricanes or tornadoes, disasters often strike without warning. We want our community, as well as the surrounding communities, to be proactive rather than reactive with disaster strikes,” said Michael Chavez, Yorktown Nursing and Rehabilitation Director.
“This is a community-wide event to help our communities be prepared for the "What if?" should another hurricane or disaster strike the Crossroads area,” said Amber Pawlik, RN, Director of Clinical Education with Yorktown Nursing and Rehabilitation. Their organization, along with Cuero Regional Hospital, Yorktown Medical Clinic and many others are proud to partner on this event and will have booths with disaster preparedness materials and resources on hand.
Emergency response personnel – Fire, EMS, Sheriff’s Office - as well as businesses and organizations like the American Red Cross, Wal-Mart, GVEC, Accolade Hospice, Pet Adoptions of Cuero, Kraege Pharmacy will have booths at the event.
There is no admission fee to attend. The event features free parking, refreshments, as well as door prizes. The event also features speakers like Margaret Krause from Cuero Home Health sharing on what materials to have in your emergency kit at home.
