Cuero Community Hospital is recognizing Patient Safety Awareness week, an initiative of the National Patient Safety Foundation, March 13-19, 2016. This awareness week places enhanced focus and education on patient healthcare safety.
"Patient Safety Awareness Week is an effort to increase our and all patient's involvement with their healthcare," states Denise McMahan, Chief Quality Officer at Cuero Community Hospital.
"We are continually putting into effect processes and safeguards to improve patient satisfaction. It is important that the community knows they have a voice in the direction of their care as a patient. Our most important endeavor is to provide them comfort and security while they are a patient of our hospital, clinic(s) or home health agency."
In an effort to promote patient safety, some important points to remember are to always ask questions or express your concerns, ask a relative or trusted friend to be your health advisor or navigator, educate yourself on your health condition, and learn and participate about the services being offered to you for treatment.
Cuero Community Hospital issued a patient safety proclamation in an effort to further progress awareness of Patient Safety Week. This proclamation was signed on Friday, March 11, 2016 by Sara Meyer, Mayor of the City of Cuero. This proclamation states that as Cuero and other area citizens strive for safe and quality healthcare, the professionals at Cuero Community Hospital strive to provide the highest level of healthcare to their patients.
