Hospital Initiates Precautionary EMR Shutdown; Patient Care Continues Without Interruption
Cuero, Texas — December 19, 2025 — On Tuesday, December 16, 2025, our hospital’s Information Technology Department identified anomalies within our network. Out of an abundance of caution, the electronic medical record (EMR) was shut down for the clinics and hospital setting, removed from the network, and an investigation was immediately initiated.
At this time, there is no evidence that patient care, quality, or the continuum of care has been affected. The hospital implemented established downtime protocols, which are designed for situations when electronic systems are unavailable. Medical records are being completed in accordance with these protocols to ensure safe, effective, and uninterrupted care.
“This action was taken proactively to protect the integrity of our systems and the information entrusted to us,” said Lynn Falcone, CEO. “Our staff remains focused on quality, safe, patient care.”
The hospital will continue to operate under downtime procedures while the investigation is ongoing. Currently, there is no additional information to share. An update will be provided as available.
The hospital appreciates the patience and understanding of patients, families, and the community as staff continue to deliver high-quality care without the use of electronic records.
